Bond No. 9

I first discovered this perfume shop when my friend, Janet, was looking for a special fragrance to wear for her wedding.  At first, I spotted their packaging in the window display and I thought she was taking me to a a candy store.  You see, they package their perfumes to look like candies, specifically, candies I remember enjoying when I was in Paris.  When we stepped inside, I was a little disappointed to discover that we were not, in fact, in a candy store.  Since I am hyper-sensitive to smells, I’m generally not a huge fan of perfume, and certainly not a fan of perfume stores, so my first inclination was to turn around and just wait outside.  But this place was different.  My nostrils were not assaulted with a cloud of headache-inducing chemicals when I walked in.  In fact, I really couldn’t detect the smell of perfume at all.  The air was clean and fresh.  We spent the better part of an hour in the store, sampling different perfumes and talking about each scent with the lovely woman who was helping us.  And the fragrances they offer… just… wow.  Subtle and rich and beautiful.  Of all the fragrances we sampled that day, I can only think of 2 that I didn’t really care for.  And since I generally dislike all perfume, that’s saying quite a lot.  I will sometimes receive samples of new fragrances in the mail, and I actually get excited to try them.  Here’s a shot of the candy-like packaging; isn’t is great?

Marit Hanson - That packaging is awesome! I’d love to see how they have the store merchandised.
